Kerry County Museum (0-6, 6-18, 18+)

The Museum collects, records, preserves, displays, and communicates material relating to the archaeological, historical and cultural heritage of County Kerry. It is a designated repository under the National Monuments Act and has a strong and varied collection of approximately 4,000 objects. KCM was awarded Full Accreditation from the Heritage Council’s Museum Standards Programme for Ireland in 2013.

Siamsa Tire – The National Folk Theatre of Ireland(0-6, 6-18, 18+)

Siamsa Tíre, The National Folk Theatre of Ireland, is one of Ireland’s busiest and most vibrant arts centres. As the home of storytelling and Ireland’s only traditional Irish arts theatre company, they provide live family entertainment and performances of traditional Irish music, song and dance from their theatre in Tralee, Co Kerry.

Blennerville windmill & visitor centre (0-6, 6-18, 18+)

Blennerville Windmill is a fully restored 18th-century windmill located on the Wild Atlantic Way (N86) near Tralee, Co. Kerry. The working windmill is now the centrepiece of a large visitor experience which also includes displays on the history of milling, Blennerville’s role as a famine emigrant port and a model railway exhibition on the famous Tralee & Dingle line. Their passionate team of experts is committed to providing an unforgettable experience for every guest.

Derrynane House, Caherdaniel (6-18, 18+)

At the southern tip of the Iveragh Peninsula is Derrynane House, the ancestral home of one of the greatest figures of Irish history. Daniel O’Connell, known as ‘The Liberator’, was a lawyer, politician and statesman. The house now displays many unique relics of O’Connell’s life, including a triumphal chariot presented to him by the citizens of Dublin in 1844 and the very bed in which he passed away three years later.

Old Barracks, Cahersiveen (6-18, 18+)

Why not take the time to pay a visit to the newly revamped Old Barracks in Cahersiveen situated on the world-renowned Wild Atlantic Way. This iconic building is home to the Daniel O’Connell visitor centre and local history museum. The Old Barracks is full of history dating back to its construction from 1870 – 1875. Its life mirrors all significant events in Irish history from the Civil War and War of Independence right through to the Ireland of today.
