Lectures are given in English. A good knowledge of the language is essential.
Verification of English language ability is required for all applicants who do not have English as their first language or who have not completed a major academic award equivalent to a minimum of level 4 on the Irish NFQ, that is delivered and assessed through the medium of English.
The following internationally recognised third party English language test & scores are accepted as verification of English language ability.
The minimum English Language Requirements for International Students (non-native English speakers) are as follows:
Undergraduate Year 1
- IELTS Academic 5.5 (No less than a 5.0 in any one band)
- PTE Academic 46 (Minimum 41 in each component)
- TOEFL IBT 70 (min scores of 15 in each component)
- Duolingo score Min of 90 is required
*Note for Duolingo – applicants are also encouraged to aim for a minimum of 90 points in the Production Category (The Ability to write and speak in English)
